The integration between bindCommerce and the Rakuten marketplace is planned for the future.
Rakuten, from Japan to the global market
Rakuten is the marketplace of the Japanese group Rakuten Inc. The term Rakuten in Japanese means Optimism, and in recent years the group has dedicated itself to globally spreading a corporate philosophy based on evolution, innovation and sustainability.
In 1997, the first brand of the group, Rakuten Ichiba, was founded, inspired by the nascent online markets and the possibilities offered by the Internet. The group's first logo was in Japanese characters, but with the expansion of the brand outside Japan, the company relies on Roman characters, while maintaining the original name. After about 20 years, the group finally decided to unify all the companies that make it up under the same common brand, and Rakuten was transformed in a relatively short time into an innovative worldwide trading reality.
To date, the Japanese company has over 70 companies, distributed throughout the globe, which deal with eCommerce, communication and digital content. With a network of approximately 1.3 billion users, Rakuten immediately stood out as a solid and well-structured group.
The group's homonymous marketplace is aimed at the general public, and like other giants of the international market, it includes many reference product categories. Clothing, toys, electronics, home and garden are just some of the categories on the Japanese platform.
Rakuten is also establishing itself on the European markets, and represents an excellent opportunity for all sellers to reach a large global audience.
