This section of the guide deals with checking Amazon responses after the launch of one of the connectors that make calls to Amazon for publishing and/or updating offers (Amazon Marketplace connector [Product Operation].

After launching the execution of the connector in question, the progress check can be carried out by observing 3 lists:

  • Connector execution log (Logs menu -> Connector execution log)
  • Response log (Marketplace >> Amazon >> Report and logs >> Log answers)
  • Errors in submitted feeds (Marketplace >> Amazon >> Reports and logs >> Errors in submitted feeds)

The first log (Connector execution log) tells us whether the activity of sending the request to Amazon has been carried out successfully or not.

Log answers

In this section, you can view the data sent and the type of response received from Amazon.
It is possible to filter by feed type, among the following:

_POST_INVENTORY_AVAILABILITY_DATA_: Feed related to the quantity of products.

_POST_PRODUCT_DATA_: Feed related to the products in their entirety. In this type of feed you can view any errors found for each individual SKU.

_POST_PRODUCT_PRICING_DATA_: Feed related to the price associated with the products.
By clicking on the magnifying glass, in the line relating to the offer, you can see how many offers have generated errors and how many offers have been correctly published/updated on the marketplace.

_POST_IMAGE_DATA_: Feed related to product images.

_POST_PRODUCT_RELATIONSHIP_DATA_: Variant relationship feed.

It is also possible to download the sending file containing the product information sent to the marketplace and the response file by clicking on the "Download" button.

risposte-da-Amazon-e-relativi-log.png

Errors in submitted feeds:

Observing the next log (Errors in the feeds sent) will show us the list of offers that have generated errors. In this case, you can also filter by SKU.

By clicking on the magnifying glass, in the line relating to the offer, you can view the type of error encountered.

The other connectors to Amazon act synchronously; response times are therefore shorter and the activity log is simplified (connector execution log table only).

After a maximum of ten consecutive errors for the same product SKU, the bindCommerce system will no longer attempt to send the offer to Amazon and therefore the problematic SKU will be excluded from subsequent feeds sent.
It is therefore necessary to report as managed the errors resolved, avoiding that the latter accumulate. In order to manage the errors resolved, it is necessary to go to the section

Marketplace >> Amazon >> Report e logs >> Errors in submitted feeds

After selecting one or more errors, it is necessary to report them as managed by clicking on the appropriate green tick.

Amazon shipping methods are generally created, managed and linked to offers directly from this section of the marketplace:

Settings --> Shipping settings

thumb amazon shipping settings

Once you have created the models in Amazon go to the parameters for the preparation of offers that we have already talked about in these articles: Parameters for preparation of known Amazon offers and Parameters for preparation of unknown Amazon offers.

You will be able to specify the model in the Shipping tab under Shipping model. Pay attention to the name you enter: it must be identical to the model name indicated in Seller Central otherwise the link will not work.

If more models are created on Amazon, more parameters in bindCommerce will be needed and therefore more connectors and filters. Alternatively it is possible to fetch the data dynamically using a placeholder in cases where the model name is present, for example, in an attribute.

Shipping templates in the dedicated section

Also in this case the models must first be created within the Amazon Seller Central. Once configured, you can also take advantage of a second connection method in bindCommerce. The dedicated section can be reached through the following menu:

Marketplace >> Amazon >> Shipping templates

Using the models directly in bindCommerce you have the possibility of using a slightly more complex method, especially in the presence of weight bands. It is in fact possible to specify a minimum weight and a maximum weight. The bindCommerce system will then apply the correct method based on the information present on the articles.

thumb amazon shipping templates

We remind you that the name of the templates must be identical to the one entered in Amazon. Using this method it will not be necessary to enter the data also in the parameters for the preparation of offers.

Sending to Amazon

After configuring the models, you will first need to update the offers in bindcommerce using the previously created connector for generating offers and finally you can send the data to Amazon by activating a specific option within the parameters for sending offers.

The dedicated option is Shipping group data (MerchantShippingGroupName), but in this case you will also need to select the Condition of the asset and Name (Title). It is not necessary to create a dedicated configuration if you already have other publishing configurations, just add the check to the field mentioned above directly to the existing configuration.

PLEASE NOTE: It is not recommended to use existing stock update configurations and prices. In this case it is preferable to create a special configuration for updating only the shipping methods.

To sell effectively on Amazon, you need to create a product inventory that is as complete and detailed as possible. Thanks to some standard information, Amazon is able to manage internal cataloging and browser searches, correctly indexing the products. In order to obtain a correct and effective inventory, it will be necessary to equip the products with more attributes, necessary for advanced research on the marketplace.

Classification Data

The elements in this section refer to the search and catalog fields on Amazon. Some fields are of fundamental importance for the published products to be available for advanced searches on the marketplace. In the absence of such data, the product will be invisible to the public who will carry out an advanced search. How to fill in this section? Some elements may correspond to placeholder values, based on the choice of attributes made in the Data Set section. Other elements may instead be filled in using fixed values indicated in the following tables.

The Color and Size values derive from the Product List present on bindCommerce. To obtain correct advertisements, please evaluate the use of the standard values indicated by Amazon for the Size field, starting from your product archive.

Conversions

In the event that the Color and Size values of the Product List do not coincide with those accepted by Amazon, bindCommerce allows you to carry out scale conversions directly on the platform.

Just click on the menu:

Processi >> Conversions and Normalizations >> Conversions

Let's say we have an anthracite colored product. To make a conversion, simply click on the green Add button, indicate the Manufacturer from the drop-down menu (if you intend to create a conversion valid only for a specific manufacturer; leaving this value blank, the conversions will be used for products of any brand) and choose the type of scale best suited to the product if it is a size conversion, general if it is a color conversion.

In the field Starting scale it will be sufficient to choose in the case in question non-standard descriptive color, and indicate Anthracite as the starting value. In the Target scale field, indicate Color Standard Eng and search among the values provided by Amazon for the one that is closest to anthracite, for example Gray. Once entered in the Target value field, just click on Save and Close. To insert a converted value in the Classification Data section use the specific tag.

Before you can send the generated offers to Amazon you need to create a configuration to specify what data to send and how to send it.

In this guide we will see specifically the operations to be carried out for the publication of products not present on Amazon.

thumb amazon new offers sending

We will find the section used for this purpose under the heading:

Marketplace >> Amazon >> Actions on products/offers

In this section there are fields to fill in such as:

  • Configuration name: identifier so that we can later remember the function of the configuration.
  • Marketplace: Select the market for the products to be published
  • Operation type: select the type of action that the connector will perform
  • What offer statuses to send: Select the offer statuses that the connector should consider when publishing
  • Replace any existing data by deliting those present? - to be used only in special cases to reset all offers and reload them from scratch.
  • Exclude from sending ofers without barcode? - it is possible to avoid sending products without barcode, if any.
  • Send related products: possibility to choose whether to send all products, or only the parents, only the children, or only those without variants.

At this point it is also necessary to specify in detail which data to send. So in the section Send offer and / or product data? select Yes. You will be able to access a series of options available for sending to Amazon.

It is also possible to specify in detail which data to send.

  • Product condition: new or used
  • Name: product name.
  • Descriptions: Includes the general description and bulleted list.
  • Brand: brand name of the product.
  • Manufacturer: manufacturer name.
  • Keywords: list of words used by Amazon to search for the product.
  • Categories: product classification within Amazon categories.
  • Product dimensions and weight: data relating to product measurements.
  • Variant data and specific attributes for the product category: data relating to the attributes and variants foreseen in the configuration.
  • Dimensions and weight of the item packed for shipment
  • Additional Publication Data: Additional information such as the availability of gift packages or greeting messages.
  • Launch and Release Dates: Control when the offer will appear (launch) and be available to buyers (release).
  • Safety data and regulations: reference to European directives on safety to be applied.
  • Shipping group data
  • Manufacturer's Recommended Price: Under Amazon's new rules for displaying discounted prices, you must use this option to display the original price of the product above the discounted price. By checking this field you will therefore have the possibility to select the price list, from which the full price of the products will be extracted, to be sent to Amazon together with the discounted prices.

In the specific case of creating new products, select all the options you want to be sent to Amazon.

Continuing with the configuration, you can choose the other information to send to Amazon.

  • Send variant relationships: Creates matches between parent products and linked variants.
  • Send images: allows the sending of images linked to the Amazon offer.
  • Send prices: send the prices for the desired offers; the data are taken directly from the bindCommerce product list, selected from the set list.
  • Submit B2B Pricing: Option available to Amazon Business users. Select the reference price list intended for Business offers
  • Send quantity: sends the update on quantities for the desired offers, the data can be taken from the bindCommerce product list, from the value of a specific attribute, or can receive a fixed value.

There are also further options regarding the methods of sending and publishing:

  • Marketplace: the marketplace on which you want to publish the products.
  • Type of operation: Creates or completely updates the record, deletes the previous data and completely replaces it with the new ones. Create or update only the information sent, change the data on Amazon related to the ones sent but will leave everything else intact.
  • It replaces any existing data by eliminating those present: to be used only in special cases to reset all offers and reload them from scratch.
  • Exclude adverts without barcode from sending ?: it is possible not to send products without barcode, if any.
  • Send related products: possibility to choose whether to send all products, or only the fathers, only the children, or only those without variants.
  • Where to pick up the processing times? - you can choose whether to withdraw them from the offer, in the case of fixed data, or from an attribute, in the case of different processing times for each item

Offer sending connector

Once the rest of the configurations are finished, all that remains is to prepare the connector that will take care of sending the offers to Amazon.

Process--> Connectors

Click Add at the top right to create a new connector, fill in the fields as follows:

  • Connector Name: Choose the desired name
  • Node type (technology): in our case it is Amazon Marketplace
  • Node: the node created earlier
  • Connector Type: Amazon Marketplace [Product Operations]

By clicking on Save and continue the page will update the additional required fields.

  • Do you want to recode SKU? - Premium function. Allows you to manage the correspondence between the SKUs present on bindCommerce and the different (but corresponding) SKUs present on external platforms
  • Execution in simulated mode: the execution of the connector will not be effective, but the log will show the number of products that it would have extracted in normal execution
  • Configuration: select the configuration created before
  • Filters on the records to be treated (products): select the filter on the products from the drop-down menu, among those previously created. To create a new product filter, see the Product Filters guide.
  • Run the connector immediately? - Select yes if you want the connector to run as soon as it is saved. Otherwise, just click on Save and close and insert the connector into an automatic procedure.
