To publish the product catalog from bindCommerce to Ecwid by Lightspeed, the following configurations are required on bindCommerce:
- API export product configuration (to define which information to export for each product)
- Product export configuration (to define creation permissions and standard names for common attributes: barcode, manufacturer, and supplier)
- Product filter configuration (to define which products to export)
- Connector creation for product publication on Ecwid by Lightspeed
Product export API configuration
The product export API configuration is used to define which information to export for each product.
On your bindCommerce panel, follow the menu "API > Products export"
In the "Information to consider" group you can choose, according to your preferences, the following options:
- Export product information
- Export availability
- Export prices
- Export the attributes
- Export categories
- Exporting images
Product information
The SKU is always exported (being the primary identifier).
The fields managed by the integration are the following: barcode, product name, full description, manufacturer, supplier, weight, dimensions, metadata
It is possible to select only one alternative description for each language, which will populate the translations.
Stock availability
The additional warehouses will not be considered in the export to Ecwid.
Prices
It is possible to send Ecwid only one price list for each product (and the relative discounted price).
It is necessary to send at least the net price (excluding VAT) and the gross price (including VAT) which will then be displayed on the site based on the configurations chosen on Ecwid.
Attributes
Select the attribute values to be sent in the main Ecwid language. Is it possible to perform any normalizations before sending to Ecwid using the option "Perform an attribute scale conversion?"
Categories
It is necessary to export the category key and the name. Optionally you can send the description and the big picture. By exporting the alternative descriptions it will be possible to populate the translation of the categories themselves.
Product images
It is necessary to send the images in large format
Product export configuration on Ecwid by Lightspeed
The product export configuration is used to define creation permissions and standard names for common attributes.
On your bindCommerce panel, follow the menu “eCommerce (sale channel) > Ecwid by Lightspeed > Product publishing”, and then add a new configuration.
In the “Data to export” group, choose a previously created API export product configuration, or create one at the moment.
In the "Options creation" group it is possible to choose:
- whether to create new categories when not present or link to products only to previously created categories,
- whether to create new products when not present, or update previously created products
Consider that after the creation of each element on Ecwid by Lightspeed (products, combinations of variants, categories) bindCommerce saves the correspondence between the Ecwid by Lightspeed identifier and the bindCommerce identifier in the list that can be consulted by following the “eCommerce (sales channel) > Ecwid by Lightspeed > References” menu. Thanks to these references, no duplicates are generated and it is possible to recall previously published elements. The table is left editable by the user to manage the solution of any anomalies and special cases.
In the group “Standard attributes names” it is possible to choose the names to be used by Ecwid by Lightspeed to identify these attributes (barcode, manufacturer / brand, supplier) in the main language.
Product filter configuration
To manage product filters, refer to the specific tutorial.
Creating connector for publishing products on Ecwid by Lightspeed
Finally, to create the publishing connector, you need to follow the menu "Process > Connectors", click on add, and then:
- Give the connector a name (for example "Publish products on Ecwid by Lightspeed")
- Choose the type of node (technology) "eCommerce Ecwid by Lightspeed"
- Choose the node previously created
- Choose the type of connector "eCommerce Ecwid by Lightspeed [Product publishing]"
- Click on "Save and continue"
After the page has reloaded, you can:
- choose the previously created connector configuration
- optionally, choose the previously created product filter, or create one on the spot
The simulated mode will allow you to extract the products and write them in a log (without sending any data to Ecwid by Lightspeed).
The differential approach will eventually make it possible to reduce the number of products extracted, in the event that the update concerns only availability and prices.
Obviously, the created connector can be inserted in an automatic procedure.
